Sense-making

“The real danger is not that computers will begin to think like men, but that men will begin to think like computers.” – Sydney J. Harris.

Have you ever looked at a truly complex system and thought to yourself, “Hmmm…..both brilliance and foolishness.”?

When we suppress our primary (natural) intelligence and become caught up in the complexities of consciously calculated processes, we can find ourselves arriving at the most intelligent ways to accomplish the most unintelligent things.

Business organizations are notorious for this. That’s just beginning to change, but it’s evolutionary, so the 30 year rule applies. In other words, from initial realization and understanding to broad acceptance (LinkedIn, etc.), there is, conservatively, a 30 year evolutionary delay. At the H.I. Factor, we’re working to shorten that. 🙂
